Wire and cable applications

The combination of attributes available in Exact plastomers have been particularly welcomed by the Wire and Cable industry :

• Compound flexibility comparable to PVC and EPDM.
• Free flowing pellets for continuous compounding.
• Improved filler acceptance and dispersion.
• Efficient silane or peroxide crosslinking.
• Lower density with consequent unit volume cost savings.
• Processable at high speed on conventional thermoplastics equipment.

Exact plastomers have been used as simple viscosity modifiers to improve the processability of EPDM compounds all the way through to sophisticated Halogen Free Flame Retardant compounds.

Used pure they have provided highly flexible low voltage insulation materials or at the other extreme, low cost, highly filled cable compounds.
