Flexible TPO's

Flexible thermoplastic polyolefins (TPO's) continue to enjoy exceptional growth in the automotive and construction industry, increasingly at the expense of PVC for reasons of weight reduction, recyclabilty and plasticiser migration.

Traditionally TPO's have been a blend of polypropylene and EPDM, but Exact plastomers are now widely utilized as a modifier in the TPO formulation or as a major blend partner for polypropylene.

Advantages for Exact include :

• Free flowing pellets for continuous compounding.
• Compatibility and improved dispersion - particularly with high melt flow polypropylene - resulting in :
  
 
• less stress whitening,
• improved knit line integrity,
• thinner parts.

The advantages of Exact based TPO's have been exploited in applications including roof sheeting, automotive parts and mechanical goods.
